Subway Norovirus Outbreak - Hartford City, IN

The week of January 6, 2012 multiple residents of Hartford City, Indiana began to complain of flu-like symptoms including vomiting and diarrhea. As the numbers grew, the Blackford County Health Department began an investigation and through patient interviews, learned that many victims had recently consumed food at a local Subway.

The Subway in question closed its doors for further investigation on Tuesday, January 10 and remained closed as of January 13.

A total of 90 people have been linked to this outbreak, including two hospitalizations. The exact source of the outbreak has yet to be determined.
